It is the knowledge that we can change people’s lives that has fuelled our passion. If you believe it’s possible, we can help you to make it come true.

Specialists in helping people of all abilities to access the water.

Decades of experience in finding innovative solutions and work-arounds while maintaining our key design features of performance, strength, safety and comfort makes us the go-to-choice for custom accessible builds including fully wheelchair accessible boats and conversions.

Inclusivity is a value that has been evident throughout the businesses from the outset, this includes our approach to the design and build of boats, improving access to the water for everyone. Our history of building accessible boats of all types demonstrates our ability and willingness to work with you in a unique relationship as your project develops.

We always enjoy working with other designers and particularly with Nic Bailey on the wheelchair accessible design of Impossible Dream. We currently have two Darren Newton new-design accessible catamaran builds in progress, both for wheelchair users and both due for launch in 2020. Earlier in 2019 another accessible Dazcat cruising catamaran was launched, the D1295xl. Her family, including three children with different physical and emotional needs, are enjoying the freedom their boat has given them so much it has stayed in the water over the first winter so they can use her all year around.

Our previous accessible boat projects are detailed below.

Design For All Abilities

Disabilities can be both visible and invisible. Abilities vary from person to person regardless of how able bodied or not you might be. We want as many people as possible to be able to enjoy our boats so with that in mind ease of use and comfort is always a key feature.

To prove the point our oldest owner, 86-year-old Mike Butterfield, takes on the gale force winds in the 2018 Royal Ocean Racing Club’s Caribbean 600 race. Mike is now on his third Dazcat, D1395 Dazzla is providing him with all the access he needs to continue racing and cruising.
