Second Wind is a Pat Patterson design built by South Coast Marine, 1979. It is ideal as a live aboard that is complete and ready for extended cruising. Spacious and comfortable accommodation with a large inventory means you can get sailing right away. Sailing performance has been improved by its professionally modified bows to form a more bouyant and efficient shape..

Twin rudders
Accommodation:
- 6 berths in 2 x double cabins, pilot berth and pipe cot.
- The galley has plenty of work surfaces and storage. There is a four burner SMEV hob, grill and large oven.
- Water storage is 170 litres in 2 tanks.
- A Kabola diesel heater is installed in the saloon and this supplies three small radiators.
- The heads have a toilet, washbasin, gas water heater and shower.

Hull & Decks
GRP hulls, deck and superstructure. The bows have been modified to form a more bouyant and efficient shape. The work was carried out professionally by Multimarine in 2001.
The original hull is still intact under the new mouldings giving an extra margin of safety should the bow become damaged.
Both hulls were cleaned and re-epoxied below the waterline at the same time as the hulls were modified.
Rig & Sails
Bermudan cutter rig, with roller furling on both headsails.
The rig was replaced in 2002 with a longer mast and all new standing rigging. The fore genoa roller furling replaced in 2019.

Engines
- 2 x Volvo 13hp MD7A diesel engines, cruising speed 6 knots,
- Volvo gearbox with saildrive to props. Folding 2 bladed props.(Standard fixed props also go with boat).
- 6 x 12 volt batteries charged by wind generator, solar panels and engines via 2 x Sterling alternator boosters.
- Steering is wheel and rod/gearbox.
- Autohelm ST 3000 self steering is on board.
