How to get here by boat
“We have always found boatyards to be helpful. What makes the Multihull Centre exceptional is that you don’t just get help from other owners; you get help from craftsmen who have been building, maintaining and sailing multihulls all of their lives. From Striders, Heavenly Twins and Prouts to full carbon AC45’s they have done it all. The [yard] guys are always happy to simply advise or to carry out a full-service repair depending on your budget. With the new boat lift and continuing investments in equipment it is difficult to think of anywhere else in the UK with the same facilities and experience for multihulls.”
Additional Services
Europe’s longest established multihull specialist boatyard is also home to Dazcat Designs, Multimarine Manufacturing LTD and Powercat. Together we provide a unique and complete service
The Multihull Centre is a full-service yard because we want to make your lives easier and more enjoyable. We are a community of like-minded sailors, engineers and boat builders who can often be found working on their boats or having a drink around the barbecue discussing their adventures or the latest developments in sailing technology.
To complement and enhance the services listed above for specialist work we also work with a selection of the most highly skilled contractors:
The UK’s Catamaran & Trimaran Specialist – a unique yard & community
Situated in Millbrook, a sheltered tidal estuary close to Plymouth Sound, the Multihull Centre boatyard is the ideal base for catamarans and trimarans cruising the UK’s beautiful south west coastlines… the beautiful Whitsand Bay just around the corner for day trips or easy access to the length and breadth of Devon and Cornwall. The sub-tropical Isles of Scilly, the South West Approaches, Brittany and the Atlantic Ocean are also close by if you are feeling more adventurous.
We offer a warm welcome to visiting sailors and local services and facilities are within easy reach – the pubs and shops of Millbrook village are just a ten-minute walk. Our beautiful Rame Peninsula, comprising Maker Heights and the picturesque villages of Kingsand and Cawsand, offers stunning beaches, woodland, country walks, excellent live music and delicious local food and ales. There’s also easy access to Plymouth and beyond via road or public transport.
Dazcat catamarans and Multimarine Manufacturing are based on site. Together we make up the perfect partnership group, each offering services and facilities that compliment the others. The diverse amenities along with the unique and beautiful location bring together a rare combination of build and sailing experts as well as self-build hobbyists, seasoned circumnavigators and liveaboards of all types. For those looking for a more comfortable place to stay while they go about their business, there are a number of B&B’s located locally. Combined, these services and people create a truly unequalled community.
Multihull Centre History
The Multihull Centre has been home to a great many well-known multihull designers and adventurers. Its residents and visitors have, over the years, played a key role in the development of multihulls in the UK and internationally. Today Dazcat continues that tradition and is still working to bring multihulls the recognition they deserve.
